What is neuroplasticity?
It’s the ability to change and make new pathways as a result of experience. Change is not hard, change comes from knowing what a person wants and wanting this thing, once these two things are clear the rest happens naturally. There are a few stages of building this connection/new pathways in your brain, one of the most interesting ones is a “tipping point” where at one point during the changing process it becomes the way you truly think now, and old ways of thinking get overwritten.
Why should I learn about it?
We are all created the same way, and we all have this amazing “brain” organ which manages a lot of executive functions in our body. Mind and body are connected and they can’t co-exist separately. If you understand a little bit more about neuroscience and neuroplasticity, then you are gaining a competitive advantage in life, which could be used in specific or all areas of your life, in a simple and easy way.
How is coaching connected to neuroplasticity?
Neuroplasticity is the science behind the “change”. Coaching is all about making “positive change in your life”. As a result of a coaching program my clients are happier, clear on their goals and desires and more prompt to make better decisions. I use neuroplasticity to describe change patterns to my coaching clients and use it as an explanation tool. Once, I know what my client wants, through active, challenging conversation, heightened awareness about that specific goal ( it is always linked to the values and beliefs of that particular person ) then we focus grately on “taking action” and moving towards that goal. With a proper preparation and focus within weeks, magic happens.
The best from neuroplasticity!
– “Just because you have a thought doesn’t make it true”. Not only can you change the way you think, feel, and behave through conscious effort, but you can also change the programming and chemistry of your own brain
– “In nature nothing is hardwired, everything is livewired, everything is evolvable. Our brains renew themselves throughout life to an extent previously though not possible”.
– “Your brain grows and changes based on feedback. What you tell it, changes it. And while it’s rewiring itself, your brain then feeds those new programs, those new pictures of yourself, back to you. It’s a feedback “loop.” What you put in, you get back out, in a continuous “neural activity feedback loop.” Shad Helmstetter
– “Of all of the ways we get programmed, it is our self-talk that plays the single most important role in the programming of the brain. If you have the wrong self-talk, your life will be a struggle, and cannot work well. If you use the right self-talk, you will wire your brain in the best possible way- and the results will show in your life.” Shad Helmstetter
